In this Marketing lesson, we take a quick look at top features and considerations when deciding your next customer relationship management tool & email marketing platform.
It has been the best investment I made in my design journey so far. I would consider myself a novice but I honestly feel like I've gained a genuine professional insight into the process of creating a high-level website.
I'm an early adopter of the KreativePro Masterclass, and I love how well put together it is. Neftali takes you through each step of the process from paper sketches to marketing all with fun visuals & clear instructions!
When it comes to choosing the tool that you'd like to use for your customer relationship management. There are a lot of different options, but before we see those options, I'd like to talk about some of the considerations that you should look for.
First of all, the size of your email list is important. Many of them are priced based on how big your list is. So obviously you need to find a tool that fits within your budget. But also can handle the size of your subscribers. You want to make sure that the tool you choose has lead generation capabilities and integration built in. And what I mean by this is you want to make sure that you can easily integrate it into your web flow project.
If you're using a different publishing system, you'll want to make sure that your email newsletter system integrates with that as well. You might also want to choose systems that integrate with your social media profiles. So the more integration features that email system offers, the more options that you have of connecting with other aspects of your digital marketing, you want to make sure that your system has automation.
And what I mean by that is that it's going to be able to send out emails to different customers that are at various points in the purchasing process.
So, if you have a customer who hasn't purchased yet, you wanted them to receive a certain email. That's trying to entice them to purchase. If you want a customer that has already bought something, then it's nice to have an email that's maybe reflects what they've already purchased and give them suggestions on other related products, tools that provide automation features are definitely going to be more beneficial in the long run.
Now, this one is pretty self-explanatory, but we want to be able to use tools that are pretty easy to use. You also want to take a look at the scalability and especially how that relates to how much it's going to cost. So maybe you only have an email list of 5,000 email addresses right now, but in the future, you plan on having 10 or a hundred thousand, we also want to make sure that any tool we're using has analytical data.
You know, we can see all sorts of statistics related to what percentage of people are opening up our emails and where they're going to after they opened the emails. And on the same note, we want to be able to do AB testing as a designer, you might be very familiar with this term. Email marketing is one of the absolute best places to do AB testing.
We want to be able to send out two very similar emails to customers that are within the same target market, and then see how they react differently to those emails, so that we can fine tune our marketing efforts in the future.
All right. So let's go ahead and take a look at the tools that I personally used and they are my go-to's when it comes to customer relationship management and email marketing tools built in.
Number one is you have fresh sales, some of the top features are, you know, you have built-in phone calls, it deal management and sales pipeline. The leading reports scoring and automation. You have also front app some of the top features include email collaboration, you can have a threat or a conversation instead of running, you know, emails back and forth.
You have included a website chat bot, so you can acquire more emails or subscribers, you have a workflow management and in bulk email sending. So it's similar to how the other email work, but it's all integrated into your email. So it's really, really cool.
All right, so then you have air table, which is all about automation. You can create views like the Kanban view, similar to Trello and create a custom sales pipeline of any new subscriber. You have website forms that you can publish publicly, to acquire more subscribers. We have MailChimp, the top features are automation and advanced reports. You have an app on your phone where you can actually see how your campaigns are doing live.
You have embeddable forms that you can put onto your website, it's really, really simple. You can create segments and customer sales funnels based on the tags that you have created. Some of these other tools are convert kit, which is very similar, it's got tons of features, you can try them out and it's affordable.
Another one that I like is text magic because it sends out bulk SMS messages. If it's something that you want to take on as a strategy, Emma is very, very nice because it gives you all those features built in. But it is very expensive, so you might want to take a look at that.
